Environmental Impact Assessment

Weller Designs can manage all aspects of the planning process. We consult with the relevant Planning Authority to establish their requirements, then prepare and submit all the required material: detailed designs (including master grading plan, master landscape plan, planting schedules and cross sections), site appraisal, environmental assessment, information on construction methodology and future site management, artwork to demonstrate visual impact (before and after sketches, photo-montage), and the planning application itself.
In addition to material describing and illustrating the development proposals, planning authorities will require some form of assessment of the environmental impacts of a project. Since the late 1990s, all full-size golf course development applications, and many smaller sites, have required production of a full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
An EIA is a detailed appraisal of the potential impact of the proposed development on all aspects of the environment - including landscape, ecology, hydrology, archaeology, transport, noise levels and local residents which places strong emphasis on the need for mitigation measures to reduce adverse impacts.
At Weller Designs we have considerable experience of environmental assessment and the planning process, enabling us to save our clients time and money by avoiding costly alterations to designs and planning resubmissions. Following application, we manage any subsequent discussion, site visits and proposal amendments, liaising with the Planning Authorities and client as appropriate.
